Silver Barrel Vineyard

Wine label packaging design that grew into a branding and website project and more

A lakeside vineyard in the heart of B.C.'s Okanagan wine country was in need of a brand identity. Silver Barrel Vineyard is the creation of Bob and Nancy Archer. They are producing excellent wines from their crops located on the slopes of Lake Okanagan near the town of Kelowna, British Columbia.

Workng with local wine makers, they needed packaging for their Sauvigon Blanc. Working from a rough thumbnail sketch via email, several barrel graphics were created. From scanned and traced hand drawn versions, to raw vector art, to Photoshop'd creations via sample photography, the final barrel graphic morphed into the gritty yet elegant design you see here.

Mockups were also created for interior and exterior signage, as well as shopping bags and support collateral. Once the final identity came to fruition, labels were produced utilizing stamped silver foil with a heavy blend of black process ink. The result is a rich, graphic image that gives this fine wine some major shelf appeal.

I created the website design along with business cards and other various marketing pieces.  The Archer's are more than pleased with their identity, packaging and branding and the response from their customers and collegues in the industry has been outstanding.
